A lot of folks probably don’t remember the 17-year-old who won the Mnet Face of Africa in 1998 but we do. 18 years later and Oluchi Orlandi is still making waves in the fashion industry. The supermodel who married Italian designer Luca Orlandi and has two beautiful sons still looks as gorgeous as ever. Honestly, I would like to know the secret behind her young face and flat stomach.
During her many years of modelling, she has graced the cover of several known magazines like Elle, Marie Claire, Vogue, Allure and so on. Asides her colorful modelling career, she is the face of Nature’s Gentle Touch, brand ambassador for Verve Africa and the judge/host of Africa’s Next Top Model.
Oluchi turned 36 on August 1st and in honor of her birthday, here are 5 things you probably didn’t know about her:
She has her lingerie line
Oluchi launched Lulu Lingerie – an underwear, active-wear and shape-wear store for men, women and kids in March 2016. Her lingerie line has collaborated with other underwear brands like Nubian Skin and Hanes.
She’s best friends with Genevieve Nnaji
Oluchi and Genevieve are BFF goals – always taking selfies together and commenting on each other’s social media posts. Their friendship just makes me feel all tingly.
She has her modelling agency
She started O Model Africa in 2008 with offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa.
She loves to go barefaced
Unlike most models and popular figures, Oluchi is not afraid to go bare face – in fact, she is almost never wearing makeup. And why should she? She looks gorgeous. We can all learn a thing or two from this beauty.
She used to be a Victoria Secrets angel.
For a lot of supermodels, walking the Victoria Secret runway is the highlight of their career and Oluchi owned that runway for 7 years (from 2000-2007)
Happy birthday to the gorgeous super model!
