Nollywood producer, marketer, and actor, Seun Egbegbe has been arraigned by Lagos Police on 36 counts of Advance Fee Fraud.
Seun was arrested on February 2 2017 by the Lagos State Police for attempting to swindle a Bureau de Change operator of the sum of $9000 and £3,000.
Prior to this, the Lagos Police Command had arraigned Seun Egbegbe for alleged theft of nine iphones in Computer Village in Ikeja, PUNCH reports.
He was mobbed before he was handed over to the police.
Egbegbe released a statement where he said: “I am presently at home relaxing!” adding that the matter has since been resolved by the Nigeria Police; and that the report that he stole phones was “devilish”.
PUNCH report said that he was never at home but was in police custody up till his arraignment in court today.
He was granted bail by Magistrate A. J. Atunwa after he pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge.
The magistrate admitted the accused on bail, with two sureties who have N2 million in their account, and property in the Ikeja area of Lagos.
The case was then adjourned to February 8, 2017.
The arrest was made 6 days prior to the day he was supposed to appear before an Ikeja Magistrate’s court for allegedly stealing 9 iPhone 7s.
Seun’s case was adjourned to February 8 2017 but the Police failed to produce Seun in court on February 8. The case has been adjourned to April 12.
Seun Egbege was arraigned on Friday February 10 for the new case.
