Omolosh’O’s Notes on Parenting: Spend Time With Your Children

nhkids

There was once a time my daughter would hound me to read her a bed time story. I do not recall humoring her as often as I should have.

She learnt to read, and as she got better she hounded me less. I am not needed at all in that department anymore and I hurt knowing I blew too many chances to be a mum in one more way she especially needed me to be.

Now I know better to take with both hands any opportunity to be her mum, her friend no matter how harried, tired, stressed, worried or preoccupied I am.

For it is just a matter of time, she will grow and mature and need me less and less but if I sow now, she will know my arms are always open for whenever she feels harried, tired, stressed, worried or preoccupied.

My name is Wuraola and I a part time stay-at-home mum. I’ve got three awesome kids; they bring me such joy! Their names are Lulu, Warda and Marja (Pearl, Rose and Coral – exotic, I know…)

I am very passionate about parenting, both through the eyes of the parent and those of the child. I am also hugely biased towards women-centric issues.

I run a kids’ clothing store – OmolashO, and a women’s not-for-profit organisation I’m aspiring to be an NLP practitioner; Business and Parenting Coach. I love a good laugh and street dancing!
