Funmi Holder, an award winning actress on popular series, Tinsel has produced her debut movie titled, The Grudge. Not a lot is known about the movie star, probably because she loves to stay under the radar. In an interview with Punch Newspapers, she mentioned that she is very shy and does not like attention. With the production of her first movie, Funmi Holder is getting a lot of attention, but we’re sure she doesn’t mind.
Her movie, The Grudge starred Nollywood heavyweights like Richard Mofe Damijo and Tinsel star, Ireti Doyle alongside Odunlade Adekola, Jaiye Kuti, Ijeoma Aniebo. Funmi Holder also acted in the movie and had to balance being an actress along with being the producer.
The Grudge is a movie that focuses on relationships, particularly marriages. It shows what can happen when resentment is left to foster for too long. When asked about her motivation for making the movie, this was her reply:
“I wanted to address miscommunication issue in relationships, be it marriages, brother-sister and what have you. I have found out that a lot of people just hold things inside; things they could have just talked about and move on, but they hold on to it for one reason or the other. When they do that, things get worse and start falling apart.
That was where I got the idea from and then decided to work on it to formally address the issue for all to see and make amends.”
Who did Funmi Holder Play in Tinsel?
Funmi Holder has been on Tinsel for seven years (hard to believe it’s been running that long). If you’re not sure which one is Funmi Holder, she plays the role of Amaka Okoh. She has certainly put in time as an actress and honed her craft to a fine art. We believe she will have a lot to offer as a producer and we’re eager to see the movie.
She recently hosted the stars of the movie to a private viewing, which was well received. We are excited for her and believe that The Grudge will do very well. Going by the trailer below, we can’t wait to watch the movie, which will be premiering on the 28th of October. The film was directed by Yemi Morafa.
