Lagos based fashion house Nouva Couture released their Middle East Lagos (MEL) SS17 collection which includes a series of delicately embroidered pieces for the covered but fashionable woman.
The collection created by Yemisi and Bolaji Ayinde was influenced by the art, culture and lifestyle of the Middle East – a part of the world known for their rich and conservative dressing.
The pieces in MEL are created with a variety of rich materials like pure Indian silk, natural fresh water pearls, Australian Swarovski crystals and Swiss lace to give a sophisticated finish.
The outfits are so gorgeous, they are fit for queens and princesses. To further prove that, each piece is named after/made for a woman of royal descend. Some of the pieces on their Instagram page have tags like “Look 4 the Princess Ameerah Al taweel” and “Look2 : Princess Bolkeik Dress”.
