7 Movies to Look Out For

The holidays are around the corner and cinema going can be a great way to spend the time. So here’s a line up of movies to catch.

Nollywood movies

The Three Wise Men

We’re not really sure what the movie is about, but there is a line up of Nollywood veterans like  Richard Mofe Damijo, Zack Orji, Ebele Okaro and Victor Olaotan. Directed by Patience Oghre Imobhio and produced by Opa Williams, we have a haunch that it will probably be funny. This is because the producer is the founder of  ‘Nite of a Thousand Laughs’. Either way, guess we’ll find out when it comes to cinemas on the 9th of December 2016. 

The Wedding Party

The Wedding Party’ is a love story about two people from different tribes who intend tying the knot together but experience different challenges. Would their love conquer all things, find out in this movie. Actors include Adesua Etomi, Banky W, Alibaba, Sola Sobowale, Ireti Doyle, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Zainab Balogun, AY, Ikechukwu, Beverly Naya, Eyinna Nwigwe and Lepacious Bose. The Wedding Party will be in cinemas December 16, 206.

76 was directed by Izu Ojukwu who won an African Movie Award for the movie Sitanda. It tells of events that too place during the Nigerian Civil war. Some prominent actors include Ramsey Noah, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Rita Dominic, Chidi Mokeme and quite a number of other celebrities. 76 will be in cinemas on the 25th of November.

A Trip to Jamaica

AY returns with this movie directed by Robert Oyime Peters. It consists of Hollywood and Nollywood stars. Shot in Nigeria, America and Jamaica, it stars comedy star Funke Akindele, Nse Ikpe Etim, Patoranking, Cynthia Morgan, Ras Kimono, Chris Attoh as well as Hollywood star Eric Roberts. It was released in cinemas on the 30th of September. Before you buy your movie ticket though, you should read our review.

93 Days

This portrays the true story about the Ebola virus epidemic that claimed the lives of many and inflicted fear in the minds of people. Directed by Steve Gukas popularly known for the movie “A Place in the stars” and stars Bimbo Akintola, Gideon Okeke, Bimbo Manuel,Tina Mba and Danny Glover. The movie 93 Days was released on the 16th of September 2016.

The Arbitrator

The Arbitrator

The Arbitrator is a suspense movie directed by Nimi Akinmolayan popularly known for “Falling” and “Out of Luck” released on August 12.  It tells the story of Gbenga (O.C Ukeje) and his employee Dara (Adesua Etomi) who had an affair. After the affair ended and Dara leaves the company, she accuses him of rape. An arbitration panel is set to find out who is telling the truth.

Brother Jekwu

This is comedy movie starring Mike Ezuronye, a village man who travels to Kenya to meet his new boss and encounters a lot of adventures on his way. This movie is billed for lots of laughs, if you prefer a lighthearted flick. It was directed by Charles Uwagbai and was released in cinemas on July 1, 2016.
