Color Trend – Making Neon Work For You

Year after year, fashion keeps dishing out new trends; some we are eager to try and some that seem a little risky. The color trend that started out a little shocking is starting to sit more with people. Neon colors are very  bright and therefore not for people who do not like bright colors or would rather not take fashion risks. For those fashionistas who are willing to jump right into fashion trends, here are a few ways to style neon and make it work for you.

Partly neon

This involves wearing either a neon top (shirt, blouse, blazer) or neon skirts, trousers or shorts. If you are going partly neon, pair with neutral colors or lean a little on the risky side and pair with dark shades of blue or purple. Or you can wear neon shirt and a skirt or trouser that has lighter shades of the neon green top. Like in the picture below, a neon shirt and an aztec print skirt with shades of neon green.

A touch of Neon.

Wearing just a touch of neon is safe and trendy. Either neon shoes, neon accessories or a neon bag. The other colors you wear shouldn’t be too bright, go for dull colors like grey, dull blue, dark shades of nude and so on. If you have that particularly bright shoe gathering dust in your closet because you have no idea how to style it, dust off that shoe.

Mostly Neon

This is more like neon and a touch of something else. This look is for risk takers. The fashionista in the picture below did a great job of pulling it off
