A lot of us want our skin to be soft and silky and will do almost anything to achieve that. The state of our skin is a reflection of our lifestyle. Damaged skin could be a result of unhealthy diet, the environment, age, and neglect. While cosmetics may seem like obvious solutions to damaged skin, there are natural and healthier ways to achieve glowing skin. You can work on your skin from the inside by eating healthy food such as:

Apples

Apples are tasty and nutritious. Quercetin is an antioxidant present in the peel of several species of apples. It protects your skin from the rays of the sun and constant exposure to the sun can cause damage to your skin.

Carrots

Carrots contain high levels of carotene which is converted by the body to Vitamin A. Vitamin A stimulates the dermis thereby reducing wrinkles and increasing blood flow to the skin. Your skin would look supple

You could add carrot to a majority of your meals (rice, pasta, salad) or you could drink carrot juice.

Sweet potato

Sweet potatoes also contain high levels of vitamin A which can help fight bacteria that may lead to acne. It also contains vitamin C which mends skin tones and heals spots and scars.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are rich in lycopene which could help slow premature ageing. Tomatoes also offer little protection from the sun.

You should avoid excess sugar, alcohol and processed meals.

PS

It’s worth mentioning that since you are taking the natural route to healthy skin, it would take a long time to work – not half as fast as cosmetic products.
