#SundaySelfies is run on the Naija Housewives’ Facebook Page. Every Sunday, a call for selfies is made and the women in the community upload their pictures to a single thread. These pictures are voted for by other members of the community through the Facebook “likes.” The picture with the most “likes” by the end of the set period wins the contest.
Quite a number of women participate in this contest either by uploading their selfies, or by voting for the uploaded pictures. It is a way to promote and celebrate the Nigerian woman and as such, it gets a lot of views and generates lots of interest in the Facebook community.
