Even though there have been a few cases of ebola in the United States, there is something unique about this one in that this is the first diagnosed case in New York City. This was breaking news from the New York Times.

The affected person is a doctor, Craig Spencer, who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guniea. He tested positive for the Ebola virus a few hours ago and was rushed to the Bellevue Hospital on Thursday. He is currently in isolation while health workers work hard to trace all those he might have come into contact with in recent days.

What was a West African ‘problem’ is now spreading to the rest of the world, emphasizing what the Doctors Without Borders has been saying; that ebola is a global problem.

We sincerely hope that no more people get infected with the deadly disease and we appreciate all the doctors who repeatedly put their lives on the line in the course of fighting this and other deadly diseases.
