Why You Need to Take a Retreat and Reconnect with YOU.

When last have you taken some time off just for you?
When was the last time you went on lock down, no internet, no phone…just you and maybe a few like-minded people?
Taking time off to think, meditate and reconnect with our core is just not something most people in our generation do. We might think about it, heck we might even talk about it, but it never really happens. And we’re not talking going on vacation with friends or family.
This is more about intentionally spending time to think about your life and what direction you want it to go. This is about going on a retreat.
I have never really gone on a retreat before. Well, there were some I went to when I was younger because my parents expected us all to be present. But I haven’t really booked a retreat myself and gone off to unwind and reconnect with who I am and with my inner purpose.
Well, in 2017, I am determined to go on a retreat.
And I really think you should think about it as well.
There are so many good things that come from spending time that way, particularly if you are in the company of a few people who are also there to get in touch with what really matters in life.
One good thing is the opportunity to unwind. Seriously there is just so much going on in life that unwinding is often the last thing we think about; and if you are a mom, just fergerraboutit.
We never really realize how overworked we are (well, actually we do, lol) until we take a few moments to stop and take stock.
And that’s a second thing you get from taking a retreat. You can take stock. We all began somewhere with a plan and a vision for something great and somewhere along the line we got derailed. We are not where we thought we would be and it doesn’t seem as though we are really on that path. If that resonates with you, then a good way to take stock of where you are and realign your life is by taking a retreat.
In an organized retreat with people who think like you do, you have the added advantage of making lifelong friends who share similar values as you.
I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely going on a retreat soon and if you’d like to join me, leave a comment here. 😉
