Self Care in September

September is one of the busiest months in the year because it is the Back to School month when children are resuming a new school year. This is also a month where parents are run ragged; getting back to the school run grind can be a hassle. Therefore at Naija Housewives (NH), we are focusing on self-care this month.

As Nigerian women, we find it so easy to neglect ourselves. We are so busy caring for everyone else and we do not give ourselves that amount of care. If someone treated your daughter the way you treat yourself, you would probably tie your gele around your waist and declare war. So why do we find it so easy to be so careless with our health and well being?

SEPTEMBER on Naija Housewives

Self care embodies so many things including your health, your emotional and mental well being and your peace of mind. It also means living a life that is free from abuse.

And that is another issue we are going to discuss this month: Emotional Abuse.

Too many women are in marriages where there is consistent emotional abuse. Your self esteem has been eroded and you can’t even understand why, after all, your husband does not beat you. But emotional abuse is as bad (if not worse), than physical abuse and this moth we will talk about it…what causes emotional abuse, how to identify it and what you can do to stop it because yes, you can stop emotional abuse.

As much as we will touch on your spouse and your children, this month is all about YOU. As you go through your busy day, take out 5 minutes each day to visit our site and get new tips on how to make your life a little bit easier and less stressful.

Welcome to September!
