With the coming of shopping marts like Shoprite and Spar we have options of fruits and vegetables for those great health drinks. As we focus on health this week, here are smoothies for different reasons and all of them healthy. From boosting immunity to detoxifying, here are 5 healthy smoothie recipes.
-
Banana Spice
This smoothie is a natural immunity booster. For any green smoothie, ginger being added has great health pluses. Ginger aids in digestion and is a natural detoxifier. It could aid in alleviating pain (menstrual, arthritic and more). It’s like an all-natural ibuprofen, immunity booster, and anti-inflammatory.
(For 2)
2 cups of spinach
2 cups coconut milk
3 bananas
½ an inch of peeled fresh ginger
½ tsp ground cinnamon
Blend both the coconut milk and spinach until smooth. Add the bananas, cinnamon and ginger, and blend again.
Tips: Start small with the ginger if you are not accustomed to using fresh ginger. Ginger is good if you feel you are coming down with a cold.
