Coral hosted a meetup with Chukwuemeka Afigbo on April 27, 2017. Afigbo is Facebook’s Head of Platform Partnerships, Middle East and Africa, and was visiting Port Harcourt to assess and connect with the Port Harcourt community.

The meetup held at Sweet Tooth Galeteria in Port Harcourt. The coffee was awesome and the conversation flowed. We got to learn a lot about Afigbo and his journey from his early days as a programmer, to working in Google and how his myriad experiences prepared him for his present job as head of Facebook Platform Partnership, Middle East and Africa.

Afigbo talked about the importance of leveraging social media. According to him, it was not just enough to be doing great things, but you had to put it out there because when people searched for who to work with or form collaborative partnerships with, it was usually those who were out there that they found and worked with.

He went on to mention the recently concluded F8, Facebook’s new messenger bots and some strategic partnerships that had been formed across the region, explaining that they were always looking to collaborate with people who were doing great things.

Coral Lifestyle Magazine organized the coffee meetup and we were privileged to have Afigbo with us for several hours. Find the pictures below.
