[media-credit name=”Image: Flickr” align=”alignnone” width=”500″][/media-credit]Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, the former Minister of Education and one of the conveners of the Bring Back Our Girls Group recently donated the sum of $10,000 to the Chibok community, the Chibok community was attacked by the Boko Haram insurgents in April 2013 and 200 school girls were kidnapped in the process. Till date, we are yet to hear anything concerning them.
Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, took to her twitter page to announce the donation of the said amount to the Chibok community, she also stated that the money was a prize given to her by the Queen of Sweden, Silva Renate, who recognized and awarded 10 people from around the world who advocate for Childs Right.
Tsambido Hosea Abana, the Chairman of the Chibok Community in Abuja, confirmed that the donation has been credited into the Chibok community account. He also made an appeal to Nigerians to make donations for the rebuilding of the schools in Chibok, because some of these schools were destroyed during the attack by Boko Haram.
This is a welcome development, we hope other Nigerians will follow suit.
