A cozy restaurant in New GRA, Port Harcourt, Miyaki’s Spices is a great option if you’re searching for a place that has atmosphere and really good food in a trendy location. My husband and I stopped by to get a bite and several things stood out to me.

The Surroundings

The first thing that I noticed was the furniture. Yes, such things matter to me. It had bright and hip colours and the arrangement was not crowded, which is a major issue for me. Everywhere was neat, not a fly in sight, and it smelled really nice.

No, that's not me, but they are nice looking people right?

The Service

The staff were really courteous, which is a far cry from another place on Tombia street, which has such atrociously rude staff that I wonder why people continue to go there. Miyaki’s Spices had polite staff who smiled. Yeah, it was a shocker. They worked quietly and were obviously well-trained. One of them, his name is Answer (I kid you not) told my husband that he works as if that day were his last day on earth. And his dedication shows.

The Price

We moved to the counter to order food and I glanced at their menu bar. I could not believe that their food was so affordable, especially if you take into consideration the fact that it is situated in one of the newest shopping malls in GRA Phase II. Their fish was 600 Naira (I spent 800 Naira in another popular fast food joint for the same size of fish and I could not even eat it because it was rotten). I took my fish and said a quick prayer that the taste would be worth the trouble.

The Food

I was blown away. Miyaki’s Spices has the best roasted fish that I have eaten in a restaurant. I have only tasted better fish at Fish joints. I took a bite out of my husband’s moi-moi and it was fresh, well seasoned and really tasty.

Conclusion

Miyaki’s Spices is an A grade. Of course, they are new so one can only hope that they maintain the same quality. I will definitely eat there and recommend anyone to try it. If you are in Port Harcourt, stop by The Vineyard Mall on Woji Street, GRA Phase II.
