Former Nigerian minister of finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala celebrated her 63RD birthday in Switzerland, on the 13th of June, 2017.

The first woman to be minister of finance in Nigeria, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala served Nigeria and was credited with developing reform programs that helped improve governmental transparency and stabilizing the economy.

She was the Managing Director of the World Bank and the first African woman to bid for the position of the President of the World Bank.

An achiever, she is also a wife and mother and a true African woman. The Harvard and MIT trained economist celebrated her 63RD birthday in Switzerland. See the pictures below:

Too often, we tend to gloss over the achievements of women who have blazed a trail for other women to follow. If there is any such person in Nigeria, it is Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. In her time as Financial Minister of Nigeria (a position she held for two terms), she was awarded the best African finance minister of the year because of her reforms.

We celebrate her, not just on her birthday but every time we think of her. And we wish her a good and happy life.
