How do you get the no makeup look in 6 steps?
The summer months are here and for most of us, the weather is becoming hotter than usual. The problem is that wearing a lot of makeup becomes uncomfortable, especially if you start feeling sticky. The best solution for warm weather is the no makeup look.
This is a look we’ve seen on several celebrities. How do they achieve that ‘woke up this way’ face without looking like leftover milk in the process?
The no makeup look is quite easy to achieve actually, and today we’ll share a few tips with you.
How you can get the no makeup look
1. Exfoliate
It sounds pretty simple right? That’s because it is. You need to make sure that you exfoliate at least once a week so that you get rid of the dead skin of your face. That gives your face a fresh, smooth look and feel.
Try this coffee and coconut oil scrub for natural exfoliation.
2. Moisturize
This calls for inner as well as outer moisturizing. Drinking lots of water will give your skin a natural and healthy-looking glow. So drink water. Then if you have naturally dry skin, use a tinted moisturizer on your face and rub gently with your fingers.
This acts as a natural bronzer as well.
Not sure where to get a tinted moisturizer? Never fear, we have your back. You can check here for an easy way to tint your moisturizer. If you prefer a natural one, check this DIY recipe for natural tinted face lotion.
Tip: don’t think because you have lots of melanin, you can ignore sunscreen. Use your sunscreen. By the way, coconut oil has a high SPF content.
3. Conceal
If you have blemishes of imperfections on your face, you can use a concealer to hide those. For those with oily skin, you can actually skip the tinted moisturizer and just go with a concealer and powder.
4. Blusher
A light flush adds a healthy glow to your skin. Use a little blusher to add some pink to your cheeks. For darker skin, use a brownish pink to get that all-natural no makeup look.
5. Eyes
If you’re like us and your eyes are very important in your makeup regime, you’ll be glad to know that you don’t have to skip that to get the no makeup look. So here’s what you’ve got to do:
- Go easy on the mascara. Use a lash curler or a transparent mascara to define your lashes.
- Brush your brows and use brow powder to fill in any gaps.
- Use eye shadow that’s one tone darker than your skin and keep it light.
- Lightly define the outer part of your eyes. If you need to outline everything, use a really light hand.
6. Light lips
Use a light lip gloss, either one that’s the same colour as your lip or something slightly darker. If you want something that lasts, then use a matte lipstick in those shades, but keep it light.
And that’s it! The no makeup look in 6 easy steps.
