Product: Skippy Peanut Butter
One instant snack, which is loved by most children is bread and peanut butter. Just smear the peanut butter on the bread and serve it with a cup of warm milo, and you have a meal ready for them. Throw in an apple and it becomes a healthy and balanced meal. However, unless you intend to make your peanut butter yourself, buying the right one can be a bit tricky. This review of Skippy Peanut Butter hopefully will guide you when you make your next purchase.
Description
Skippy Peanut butter comes in a plastic bottle with a light blue cover. The bottle an averaged sized one and there’s usually a seal when you remove the light blue cover. This seal is supposed to be the mark that indicates whether or not you buy the authentic Skippy. There’s a reason why the manufacturers emphasize on authenticity and we’ll come to that later.
Quality
This brand of peanut butter is really good. It’s smooth and creamy and has a lovely flavor. The children enjoyed it and so did the adults. It’s easy to say peanut butter is all the same, but when you’ve tried different brands and tasted some horrible ones, you can’t help but appreciate the nice ones when you come across them. Which brings us to the next part of this review…
Challenges
The major challenge you might have with this brand of peanut butter is just how much in demand it seems to be. For some reason, there are so many fakes of this around. Who would want to fake peanut butter? We have no idea, but we had about given up on Skippy Peanut butter and were going to write a negative review when we bought a jar and it was absolutely wonderful.
Unfortunately, we don’t know how to differentiate between the original and the fake and it’s too much of hit and miss for our liking.
My personal recommendation when it comes to Skippy Peanut butter is that if you’re going to buy it in Nigeria, then you have to take that risk. Unless the makers can show us how to tell the original from the counterfeit, you will end up with funny looking and funny tasting peanut butter.
Where the original peanut butter is smooth and creamy, almost like peanut chocolate, the counterfeit looks like it’s been mixed with corn flower; it’s not pleasant looking at all.
Price
Depending on where you are in the country, this brand of Peanut Butter goes for N750 – N900
