As women, we usually take up so many tasks; caring for the spouse, home and children. Many times this is in combination with our everyday work and business. How often do we find time to rest? Imagine what will happen to a machine that is operated 24 hours a day continuously without stopping, it will get damaged from overuse. Our bodies need rest, it is non- negotiable. Just the same way a machine will shut down from overuse, our bodies respond negatively to excess stress and strain and many times, when itβs time to reap the fruits of all our hard work, the body starts responding to all the stress on it over time.
Rest can be achieved in so many ways;
- Take a break from work, chat with friends, pray, meditate, lie down and close your eyes, sleep.
- Have time for relaxation; actively plan it into your schedule and consistently practice it.
- Change what you are doing: if you spend most of your time at work or doing house chores, look for a hobby that takes your mind off all those things and rest your mind.
- Go on a vacation, visit new places and go sight seeing
Remember that taking a rest is not a waste of your time. It is an investment to living healthy.
