Valentine’s Day: Part of Your Everyday Life

Still in this month of love, we will be looking at the love relationship between husband and wife. Yesterday was Valentine’s day and we would have expressed love in various ways. Showing your spouse that you love him is a lovely thing, but does it have to happen only once a year? Many couples are discovering the art of daily demonstrations of affection, love, and respect. It doesn’t mean you have to go all-out every day; few have the resources for that! But there are things you can do each day to affirm and nourish your relationship. The key is making these actions part of your everyday life.

Here are some ideas:

The simple phrase “Thank You”

Expression of gratitude is important in a relationship, even if only a friendship. Saying Thank you to your spouse benefits you, as it helps open your eyes to the various ways he complements your life. In other words, the more you practice saying “Thank you,” the more you’ll see what your husband does for you. And that will make you happy as well.

Gifts for Him

Little things can mean a lot, especially if you make a regular habit of giving them. By this, we do not mean that you need to give a gift every day; it will start losing meaning at some point if you give every day. Once a month, a little gift for no particular reason may be just the thing your partner needs to feel great about himself. When you give a thoughtful gift at some other time in the year, apart from Valentine’s Day, his birthday or Fathers’ day, they know you’re doing it because you want to.

Love Notes/Texts

These days that people tend to try to avoid writing as much as possible, leaving a note somewhere that your spouse will find it when you’re not around will be considered very special. Again, this does not need to be an everyday thing; once a week would be great. You could use SMS or facebook messenger as well. If you want to keep him guessing, change the day of the week each time.

Make Something Special

Create something special for your love. Surprise him with a homemade collage of romantic pictures of both of you, or for those who like jewelry you can make a simple necklace. The key here is to do something that is meaningful and fits his tastes and personality. It’s also a good idea to make something that signifies or illustrates your relationship, or something unique about your relationship.

The spirit of Valentine’s Day – showing love to others – need not be a once-a-year thing. These are just a few things, you can try venturing out and doing some random acts of love!
