We are a little obsessed with Ankara outfits especially those that are on the casual side. Ankara outfits are so trendy, unique and African, it’s really hard not to love them. The one thing that puts a damper in the desire to wear Ankara every day is the thought of going to a fashion designer to sew the outfits and having to deal with the inevitable disappointment.

Thanks to the widespread use of the internet, you can now buy anything – literally anything online. And that includes Ankara clothing. You don’t have to sew it, just go online and order them in your preferred style and size.

Zuvaa –  an online African clothing store has casual Ankara wear in heaps.  You can find pretty much any kind of outfit in Ankara on their website – including Ankara swimwear. Their about page does not lie when it says “The Zuvaa Marketplace is a premier online destination to find unique and one of kind African Inspired pieces.”

The store was brought to life by 26-year-old New York based Nigerian Kelechi Anyadiegwu. She saw a business opportunity when admirers would often ask her where she sewed her Ankara outfits.

Two years later, an idea she invested $500 into is worth $2 million and put her on Forbes 30 under 30 list. As a result of her inspiring achievement, she got interviewed by CNN. Speaking on what birthed the idea, she said

“I didn’t really know what I was getting into, I just had a vision and I was excited about where that would take me… As a woman of Nigerian descent, I grew up with African prints and fabrics. I loved wearing African inspired designs, and whenever I did wear these pieces, people wanted to know how they could also shop African inspired prints.”

You can also shop from preferred destinations so you know if you will have to pay shipping fee. I gotta warn you though, the items there a bit costly. But hey, unique fashion pieces don’t come cheap.
