Achieving Inner/ Spiritual Growth

The process of getting rid of the concepts and views that are not real is inner growth. It brings out the wonderful “you” hidden deep down beneath all the superficial airs and actions.

You are awakened and become more conscious of your inner self.

It is necessary for everyone. Living a better and more balanced life is hinged on your spiritual growth. We become more composed about and detached from inconsequential things going on around us.

For a few people, when we think of spiritual growth, it means living in a make-belief world and acting irresponsibly because the focus is on something “higher”. On the contrary, this growth would reflect in every aspect of your life, making you better: stronger, happier and more responsible.

To live a balanced life then we need to see to not only our physical needs but our emotional, thought and spiritual needs as well. That is the essence of inner or spiritual growth. Here are a few ways of achieving inner/spiritual growth:-

Read: Take time to read spiritual books and those that will uplift you. Give deep thought to what you fill your mind with and as much as possible, apply it to your life.

Meditate: Whatever your faith or belief, there must be at least 15 minutes reserved every day for meditation. Simply put, meditation is focusing on all you have learnt and the one you believe in, all in a bid to be a more informed and aware version of yourself.

Spiritual: You need to know that the world we live in and you essentially are not just physical. There are a greater force and power behind the physical things we see. This will help in your reactions and actions daily.

Be positive: When I say be positive, it does not mean live in denial, but for you to know there is more to every situation than what you see. Take control of those fleeting thoughts and see the silver lining in every cloud.

Be Happy: Develop the habit of being happy. If you actually look at the silver lining it becomes easy. Don’t allow external things taint your joy. Understand there is a time for everything.

Use your will power: In situations you need to take a stand, do so! When you do this, you are actually taking your God given control over your mind.

Thanksgiving: Be thankful for everything you get. Let thankfulness be seen in your relating with others.

Develop these Virtues:  Tact, consideration for others, tolerance, and patience.

It is something for all of us to aspire to and the secret to joy and peace of mind.
