‘Exfoliate’ is just a fancy term for deep cleaning your skin. To exfoliate means to remove dead skin cells. Exfoliating is easy to achieve and has numerous benefits for your skin.

How to exfoliate

Start by wetting a soft face towel with warm water and placing it on your face for two minutes. The warm water will open your pores. Put a little face scrub or wash on the towel and use it to gently cleanse your face. After washing, rinse your face with cold water to close your pores then apply your moisturizer.

You can also use a skin brush or loofah to exfoliate.

Bear in mind that there is more than one way to exfoliate your skin. Some ladies use store-bought products while some use household items like sugar, baking soda, honey and so on to exfoliate.

Why you should exfoliate.

Silky skin

Exfoliating will improve the texture of your skin and leave you with fresh, silky skin. It will remove old skin to reveal shiny skin underneath. Your face would feel soft and so smooth after exfoliating.

No more breakouts!

Pimples are caused by trapped oils under the skin. To reduce breakouts on your face, exfoliate. Unclogged skin is smooth skin.

Remain forever young.

Unshed dead skin would eventually result in lines on your face. To tame the risk of having wrinkles too early, exfoliate weekly and make your friends wonder if you drank from the fountain of youth.

The older you are, the greater the need to exfoliate. As our skin ages, it slowly loses the ability to shed dead skin on its own.

Get the most out of your facial products

Ever felt like you are not getting the results you wanted from your facial products? Maybe it’s because you are not exfoliating. To ensure you get the worth of your expensive hard-to-find and highly recommended facial products, apply immediately after exfoliating. This way, the products would penetrate your skin better and you would see results faster.
