[media-credit name=”wivestownhallconnection.com” align=”aligncenter” width=”640″][/media-credit]If you think stealing a pot of soup is too small an offence to get sentenced for, think again or better still, ask the housewife who has just finished making dinner for her large family. And ask the judge at the Magistrates’ Court in Somolu in Lagos state who sentenced a man to 6 days community service for stealing a pot of soup.
According to the prosecutor, the accused connived with others to break into the shop of one Mrs Gbadamosi around 2 a.m. in the morning of September 20, 2014 and stole her large pot of soup valued at N8,000.
The accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 6 days of community service.
Honestly this is too funny. The fact that the man actually stole her pot of stew and that the case got to court and he was then sentenced…It’s really funny but at the same time it’s not. Just imagine all the plans poor Mrs Gbadamosi had for that pot of soup and then the soup thief was only given 6 days of community service.
May God comfort her on such a loss.
