You don’t have to be an interior decorator to read interior decor blogs. If you have a passion for making your space look better – or even if you like to rearrange your space once in a while, then you should read blogs that will give you ideas you can use, particularly African interior decor blogs.
Interior decor is something I’ve always been passionate about. I was changing the look of my room right from when I was a little girl. Over the years, I look for little ways to make my space more elegant and more ME. I have learnt what works for me (like ankara throw pillows) and what does not work for me. And I’ve received a lot of help from interior decor blogs.

I have listed a few blogs that are totally inspiring. What I love about them is that they give fresh ideas on how to update and upgrade your existing space. Whether you are thinking of a complete overhaul or you just want to make a little changes to your room, these blogs will give you great ideas.
Afri-love.com
First on our list is the interior design blog, Afri-love. It is owned by artist and designer, Lulu Kitololo of Kenya. I love her warm, African inspired blog. She shares in simple ways, how to achieve certain effects with your decor.
Afri-love is more than just an interior blog though and it encompasses the entire person. Lulu shares her thoughts about wellness, Africa and what inspires her art and design. Her writing is as warm as her smile and after reading for a few minutes, you feel like you really know the person.
If you are looking for how to infuse afrocentric tones into your decor, then this is the right blog to follow.

Miss Moss (Missmoss.co.za)
Miss Moss is exactly what you would expect a blog about interior design to look like. However, it’s easy to wonder where the African bit is especially since this is a South African based blog. After that brief thought crosses your mind, you quickly forget about it as you start digging through treasure after treasure of inspiration.
From art to photography to interior design, you will find something to feast your eyes upon. I think this blog could quickly become a favourite.
Maryam Montague (mmontague.com)
This is a design blog by Maryam Montague. Her story alone should be enough to get you hooked on her blog. She writes…
I was born in Cairo, and raised in Tunis and New York, before living in Dakar, Kathmandu and Windhoek for my work in humanitarian aid. I then moved with my architect husband to Morocco where we pitched our own tent on a working olive grove on the outskirts of Marrakech. There we designed, built and decorated a boutique hotel, Peacock Pavilions, a favorite spot for travelers, as well as a place to host private retreats (yoga, photography, art, dance etc.).
Sweet stuff. She blogs about interior design. Travel and about her life in Morocco. Her blog is filled with art from that part of the world. Read and be inspired!
Apartment Therapy
This is not strictly an African interior decor blog, BUT…they feature designs from all over the world. And really, if you are serious about getting your home to look fabulous, you simply have to stop by here. They have everything! Decorating on a budget? Need to upgrade the children’s room. Your kitchen…name it, they’ve got it!
I have followed them closely since 2010 and have found this blog to be an invaluable resource.
